PARKING ARRANGEMENT FOR BIKRAM YOGA
As of the 7th April 2008
parking is a flat rate of R8.
Please bring your parking ticket to the studio with you to
have it stamped. If you do not have a stamp you will be
charged the regular rate so please remember to get stamped..
Bikram Yoga Jozi, owned and run by Sally
Flanagan is the original certified Bikram
Yoga studio in Johannesburg. Sally and her team
of teachers are all trained by Bikram himself in the US.
Bikram yoga is a demanding series of 26 posture (asanas) and
two breathing exercises (pranayamas), which is designed to
work the whole body from the inside out. The Bikram method
stimulates the organs, glands and nerves moving fresh oxygenated
blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to optimum
health. Its founder, Bikram Choudhury, scientifically
designed the 90 minute program to deliver total health through
the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body
in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss,
and limit the effects of aging. In addition, the series of
postures combine skills of concentration, patience,
determination and self control that increase mental clarity
and reduces stress.
Bikram yoga is done in a heated room to warm your muscles,
prevent injury, allow a
deeper swork out and cleanse the body by flushing toxins. The
series is suitable for
all levels: first time students and experienced practitioners
alike. Be prepared to
work hard and sweat. Bring a large towel, bottle of water
and wash cloth. Come to
class with an empty stomach and open mind.
